How do you know none of them have the technology enabled [by lack of market hum drums - most likely]?
I posted a while back when AMD answered Hexus about the Phenom power draw, and they said it should be much lower idling, there seems to be a problem. No one expanded on it though. It's the PWM controller that decides and implements this feature.
The PSI technology is only yet available for >5-phase PWM circuitry AFAIK, like
ISL6336, Intel VR11.1 compliant meeting Energy Star 4.0 specifications and includes (IMON) a current monitoring pin to detect real-time current and in low load situations to increase efficiency but drop to 1-2 phase operation, thereby saving current and power. It also allows Dynamic VID above the offset values but the input and output voltage is usually limited from 0.7-1.6v with a large current handling. A
Phenom review in November mentioned this Phenom capability.
Foxconn with their SB700 MBs were wanting to implement this, maybe that's why they never made a 790FX till now. The controller ICs have
only recently started appearing in retail though which could be one reason.
